Hello again. To avoid publishing the blog twice, I'll be doing it directly on the fan page on Rafael Nadal's official site, rafaelnadal.com. Click here to access the blog.
Hope to see you there!
Vamos, Rafa!!!

March 5, 2007 -- Getting ready for IW 2007!!!
I can't believe it's almost that time of year again. It seems as though I just left IW. Well, not really, but it certainly seems as though I was just in Cincy. Time does pass quickly!!!
Since the Nadal site (vamosrafael.com) merged with his official site last summer, I've been less involved (i.e., consumed by) tennis. I now regularly (and happily) work for Bob Larson Tennis. Known as Bob's "poster girl," I update the ATP and WTA news each day at http://www.tennisnews.com. It's great work, and it allows me to continue to travel the globe to follow tennis. Once again, my first stop this year is the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells. This is my sixth year at IW, and it remains one of my favorite events -- not least of which because I can drive there, instead of fly.
I planned to arrive on Saturday, but the Hyatt Grand Champions messed up my reservation. *grrrr* Reasonably priced hotel rooms are a bit hard to come by during the tournament -- make that impossible to come by -- but I was able to get a room that doesn't quite require me to sell my first born to stay there the week. Now I'm arriving on Sunday, but I offset that by planning to stay an extra day. I've got 15 copies of my reservation handy, so hopefully there won't be any issues when I check in.
As for the tennis, I'm going out on a limb and predicting that Roger Federer will win. I know that's a bit of a shock to most of you, but it's just a feeling I have. *lol* Seriously, unless he's injured or really jet-lagged from Dubai, I don't see anyone challenging him next week. Nadal is struggling to challenge anyone these days, and guys like Roddick and Blake traditionally do well at IW, but not against the Fed.
The women's draw is more interesting. Serena won't be there, as the Williamses don't play IW since the year Serena was booed during the final against Clijsters. Henin is on a roll, after winning Doha, but as indicated on the women's draw, she also is not entered. Sharapova is the top seed, and she will be the favorite -- both on and off the court. Particularly off the court!
The men's draw will be available tomorrow, on March 6, 2007. I'll be back then to give some insights on who may lose to Federer in the final. Until then, be sure to check out the latest tennis news at tennisnews.com . . . .
